A Good DJ-Know Music Don’t Own Cheap DJ Equipment

A good DJ is going to crop the beginning and end and just use the "meat" in the middle. A good DJ is somebody who goes the extra mile, a DJ who will play the same stuff you have at home, but play it in a way you will never hear it. A good DJ is not a jukebox. He will blend requests with songs he feels will properly motivate the crowd. A good DJ is charismatic enough to speak lively to the crowd without having to sport a goofy voice. A DJ has to have the capacity to pay attention to the needs of a crowd and adjust accordingly. A good DJ is more efficient and less pricey than a live band, and since the music is continuous and varying artists, you get more music for your hard earned money. A DJ can provide all styles of music by the original artists and remixes are available. A good DJ is worth more than some carrots and celery. A good DJ is a cat that is confident, but not cocky. A good DJ is just like a good photographer and should be booked 6 to 12 months in advance. A good DJ is one who can mix and by mixing I mean taking songs and beat matching or transitioning them to create a nice rhythmic flow. Mixing Music is an art form unto itself, taking the listener on a journey if you will through the music, building a set that may start off slow and build in intensity or just giving something more through the track selection. A good DJ always gets the best equipment and stays away from Cheap DJ equipment. Its ok to buy Dj equipment at a discount, low price is not the problem here. It is having low quality DJ equipment. By Cheap DJ equipment I mean low quality DJ equipment not low price. A good DJ is a confident, articulate and impeccable emcee. A good DJ is a lot more than a record spinner, anyone can do just that. Being a good DJ includes getting the people involved. A good DJ is not a jukebox. He or she will blend requests with songs he or she feels will properly motivate the crowd. On more thing a good DJ must be is always efficient, ahead of the game, organized and prepared. When hiring a DJ make sure your thinking ahead as well. A good DJ is the performer, moving and engaging the crowd. This engagement is equal to falling in love.

A few more thoughts on Music

Another band that I really enjoy is Blue Oyster Cult. Most of the classic rock out there, and in other words most of today’s rock as well has its roots in old blues music. I could accept an argument in their favour, though. Blues was and still is a very powerful form of music. Blues/Rock Harmonica with Soul-ful vocals I play some mean harp from slow blues to hard rock. Blues is probably the most emotion based genre of music there is as it’s primary focus is often heartbreak, a very emotional subject. The best musicians in any genre can convey their feelings and their soul through their music. And this is something that only successful artists manage to do. Because at the end of the day what is music anyway? It is a form of expression. Music is not only a form of expression. It has other beneficial characteristics. You might be wondering what. Many experiments have been made over the course of many years and have produced many surprising results. The results have been surprising to almost everyone except rock enthusiasts. Rock and Roll was found to be a highly effective cure for many common ailments including, but not limited to: close mindedness, old age, boredom and unhappiness. Hope you like my Music Blog

On Producing Music

Most people don’t understand how much work is put into making that music they listen to every day. Its one thing to write music, to write a song and lyrics and then its another thing to put that music on a CD. It takes a lot of work and expertise to do so, to produce music. Music production is an extremely intriguing, time consuming and expensive process. Music production is an art form in itself. It takes a lot of dedication and motivation and is the back bone of the music industry. Music production involves the responsibility of an individual, or group, to create, shape and mold the overall process of creating a work of music from finish to end. Music producers are conceived of as luminary figures in the industrial complex of the music business; high paid artists, mostly men, who trade in excess to move product. Producers who are just starting out will probably need to keep their fees low to attract clients. As you build a reputation and become better known among musicians, you can charge more. Ok so lets see what it takes to produce music. A producer in general terms is the person who brings everything together. It is the person who finds the artists, the person who makes the final call for what product will be made. A central role of the producer is to figure out and get the whole process in place. Getting all the gear, booking the recording studio and so on. The most important part of the music production process is to get all the sounds from the instruments on a tape. Tape could not necessarily be a tape it could be a hard drive or any other medium. To do so, to get all those audio signals on a tape a music producer will need a mixing console. Mixing consoles are expensive, and you don't want to have to pay for that too. Mixing consoles are used in many applications, including recording studios, public address systems, sound reinforcement systems, broadcasting, television, and film post-production. An example of a simple application of a mixing console would be to enable the signals that originated from two separate microphones that are being used by vocalists singing a duet for example to get them through heard through one set of speakers simultaneously. Mixing consoles are the heart of a sound reinforcement system. What mixing consoles do is to mix, equalize and add effects to sound sources and they play an integral role in the music production process. Music Blog

I like Heavy Metal

Heavy Metal took the exact opposite route than New age music. Heavy metal, punk, hip-hop, and reggae are each the music of protest, and in many cases considered immoral. Many relihions like the Muslim ones do not accept these kinds of music. That’s strange…how close minded can some people be? Heavy metal may also turn out to be the soundtrack of a revolution unfolding across that world. Here is a funny analogy…kust like heavy metals may enter the human body through food, water, air, or absorption through the skin when they come in contact with humans heavy metal the music genre can enter the mind and motivate people. Some people don’t want us to be motivate and to stir things up. Heavy metal was born in the '70s when bands began focusing on the louder, faster, and more aggressive aspects of rock 'n' roll. But metal's true prototypes came in the early '70s, in the form of Led Zeppelin 's screamy amplified blues-rock and Black Sabbath 's doomy, medicated sonic repetition. Many people disagree on whether it was Led Zeppelin or Sabbath but I really think that Black Sabbath is to blame for the whole thing. Heavy metal songs also use longer rhythmic figures such as whole note - or dotted quarter note-length chords in slow-tempo power ballads . The name of the genre is sort of a mystery. Heavy Metal is a US sci-fi/ fantasy comics magazine started in the 1970s. It blends dark fantasy and science fiction with erotica, and it was inspired by the French magazine Metal Hurlant ("screaming metal"). Heavy metal is definitely a very authentic genre of popular culture and actually quite interesting changes are happening with heavy metal at the moment. The fact is there's not such a big a difference between heavy metal and electro-industrial music, or techno music, or basic industrial music, if you go back further. Heavy metal is one of my favourite kinds of music. I like expressive music. The only problem with heavy metal, just like every other genre of music is the huge number of shitty bands out there. Never the less…..heavy metal is good for the soul. Hope you like my Music Blog

Thoughts on New Age Music

Some people really like New age music but I kind of find it extremely boring. Many think that it is calm, gentle, dreamy and should never be loud or harsh. I disagree, music should be loud and so one. It always like to blast my stereo and I never do so with new age music. New Age music is more elastic in that timing is there, but is not a master of the player. New age music is mostly a static music meaning that the chords do not change too much. In fact, you can have the same chord going on for 8, 16 and even 24 bars or more. Sometimes way to long…New Age music is largely typified by modal and consonant harmonies, usually in conjunction with patches of sound effects or nature samples. New Age music includes both electronic and instrumental forms. New age music can easily be confused with zombie music lol. They say that new age music is more of an outgrowth of new age spirituality, which often involves periods of relative quiet and meditation. The music tends to be highly repetitive and often seems a bit weird to normal people like me, which probably explains why the music hasn't found a larger audience. New Age music is soothing and relaxing for people with no taste and new age music listeners like water boiled tasteless food as well. If you are seeking music that is romantic and sensual, then don’t listen to new age music because there is isn’t anything romantic and sensual when you are falling asleep. New Age music is generally characterized as being primarily instrumental and repetitively melodic in nature. I have heard some new age stuff that was labelled as recordings of nature. If I want to listen to the sounds of nature I will go camping I won’t go buy a cd. But that’s just me. Hope you like my Music

A few thoughts on Classic Rock

Classic rock is the best, and the few stations that do play it need to have a bigger variety of songs. I heard the same song twice in two hours. Classic rock is pre-1975 and nobody can’t argue that. Anything before the early 60’s is rock and roll. Classic Rock is based on the coffee table book of the same name (new edition out in 2007) and is available as either a weekend, week or Bank Holiday course. Classic Rock is my favourite genre of music. The local classic rock station is the only station I ever have playing in my car. Classic rock is back in a big way, whether it be the Led Zeppelin guitar riffs that have come back to life with newer bands like Wolfmother or Kings and Queens’ psychedelic grooves. Another great band, the newer ones is Dead Meadow. All these bands follow a certain pattern of writing that I really like. The most important band out there I think was Black Sabbath who basically defined guitar riffs and bass lines for generations to come. Classic rock by definition, it's old, revered, canonized, and trapped in the amber of nostalgia. Many people think that Classic Rock is another kind of music that has died, I disagree. At the end of the day it really depends on the artist. Artists with deeper catalogs should tend to have higher numbers than artists with only an album or two. And artists with really long songs might have lower numbers than those with short songs. Artists are judged on the quality of their best work and on the quantity of their good work. One great album does not make a great band, but sometimes one amazing album which changed rock and roll warrants a high rating, as in the case, for instance, of the Sex Pistols. At the end of the day great albums are the classic ones, and as long as there are great rock albums there will be classic rock. Classic Rock
